What matters is the pump’s characteristics
In agricultural irrigation the fundamental factor is how the pump actually behaves in operation. We do not simply sell panels: we analyse your motor power, well depth and irrigation calendar to determine exactly the capacity you need.
The period of greatest irrigation demand (May to September) is also when solar output peaks. That overlap makes irrigation one of the best-suited applications for solar energy.
An end to diesel and generators
For many farmers the largest single cost is diesel. Once installed, a solar system runs for many years with no fuel cost. The maintenance, oil and breakdown costs of a generator disappear as well.
With transportable (trailer-mounted) solutions you can move the system somewhere secure after harvest and go on using it on your other fields.

Frequently asked questions
Does a well pump need special equipment?
Yes. A solar pump drive is used instead of a standard inverter. This lets your submersible pump run safely with a soft start, without the grid, even in cloudy weather.
Does an irrigation system need batteries?
Usually not. Because irrigation happens during the day, generation goes straight to the pump, which lowers the cost of the system considerably. If night irrigation is essential, battery or grid support is considered.
Is running a grid line to the field cheaper than solar?
On plots far from the network, solar is almost always cheaper. The cost of a line rises in proportion to distance and reaches serious figures if a transformer is needed; the cost of a solar system is independent of distance.
Can I take the system down for the winter?
Yes, if the transportable setup was chosen. Trailer-mounted systems can be collected at the end of the season and moved somewhere secure, which reduces the risk of theft and lets you use them on different plots.
